A Sauna heater can actually kill bed bugs?

There is a growing, pesky problem growing in North America and it has to do with a small critter that is causing a large scale problem for hundreds of thousands of people each year. The ever growing problem is getting worse on a year to year basis and many people simply do not know how to effectively get rid of them. According to an article on pest world “Bed bugs are found in all 50 states (USA). While in Canada the bed bug population is having a resurgence throughout the whole country but the city of Toronto is ranked the worst city in Canada with bed bug issues.

As bed bugs become more and more of an issue, especially in high-density living spaces such as hotels, apartment buildings and condos many strata’s and property managers are trying to find more cost effective ways to killing these pesky critters. There are many pest control companies who can come in to treat an affected area or offer more of a temporal solution but for many people this becomes a huge & timely expense to repeatedly call in pest control.

For many people, using a Sauna heater to eradicate the pesky critters would simply not be their first thought but we have been providing our heaters to many customers over the past 10 years because our heaters are actually perfectly built and very effective to eradicate bed bugs.

Why the Homecraft Heater is so effective:

A traditional sauna brings a room to a very high temperatures of 194 degrees Fahrenheit or 90 degrees Celsius. Bed bugs can live withstand a wide range of temperatures ranging from nearly zero to 122 degrees Fahrenheit (50 degrees Celsius) and it is for that reason that it is hard to kill them using a normal heating unit but our CSA approved heater is perfectly adaptable to be used in a concealed room and reach the necessary and for the time needed to kill these pesky critters in a safe and effective way and for that reason Homecraft has been supplying our heaters to be used to kill bed bugs.

3 reasons to look at a Homecraft Heater to kill bed bugs:

Effectiveness (killing bed bugs by heat)

Heat is known to be the best way to kill bed bugs as exposure to at least 113°F (Ideally 120°F) will kill a bed bug if they receive constant exposure to that temperature for 90 minutes or more.  Interestingly, bed bug eggs must be exposed to 118°F for 90 minutes to reach 100% mortality. Sauna heaters are made to create a safe and hot environment and are the perfect tool to eradicate a pesky and painful little critter.

Cost & Affordability

Having to call in your local pest control company to come in and attempt to kill your infested areas can become very expensive, very quickly. Especially in environments where there is a lot of transient movement like a hotel or housing complex the cost can become to much having to call in an outside company to do the work. Installing a CSA approved heater, known to be a very effective tool to remove the bed bugs usually becomes a more inexpensive way to get rid of the problem.

Safety

No need for chemicals or other dangerous pesticides! No need to worry about a bed bug heater that isn’t electrically approved for usage in North America!
