Alder Frame Sauna Door
Light-toned alder wood frame with expansive clear glass or sophisticated Bronze glass for maximum brightness or enhanced privacy and a contemporary Scandinavian look.
The Alder Frame Sauna Door with Clear Glass brings a lighter, more modern aesthetic to your sauna with its pale wood tones and expansive glass panel.
The Alder Frame Sauna Door with Bronze Glass combines the light, contemporary appeal of alder wood with the warm, sophisticated tones of bronze-tinted glass.
Handcrafted from premium alder wood – a traditional Scandinavian sauna material – this door features a large clear glass window that floods your sauna with natural light and creates an open, airy feel.
Built for durability and ease of installation, this door arrives with a pre-routed jamb and complete hardware for straightforward setup in a 27 1/8″ × 74 3/8″ rough opening. Why choose alder wood instead of cedar?
Alder offers a lighter, more contemporary look compared to Western Red Cedar’s warm, reddish tones. Popular in Scandinavian saunas, alder has a pale, nearly white appearance that creates a bright, modern aesthetic. Both woods perform excellently in sauna conditions; however, alder is slightly harder and more resistant to denting, while cedar is more aromatic. Choose alder if you want a lighter, minimalist look; choose cedar for traditional warmth and fragrance.
How much privacy does the bronze glass provide?
Bronze glass provides significantly more privacy than clear glass while still allowing soft, filtered natural light into your sauna. You can see shapes and movement through the glass, but details are obscured, ideal for shared sauna spaces or saunas visible from other areas of your home. The bronze tint also creates a warm, inviting glow inside the sauna that many users find more relaxing than bright, clear glass.
Does bronze glass affect the amount of light in my sauna?
Bronze glass reduces light transmission compared to clear glass, creating a softer, more ambient lighting effect. This doesn’t make the sauna dark—it simply filters the light for a warmer, more intimate atmosphere. Many sauna users prefer this softer light, especially for evening sessions. If your sauna has limited natural light sources or you prefer maximum brightness, consider the Clear Glass option instead.
